Introduction; this July our LG Kashiwa Campus celebrated the Tanabata Festival, a beloved Japanese tradition, that encourages children to write their wishes on colorful strips of paper called Tanzaku. It was a fun and meaningful day, where we all hope for clear skies and dreams to come true! Tanabata originates from the ancient tale of Orihime, a beautiful weaver princess, and Hikoboshi, a diligent cowherd. They both worked so hard that they earned the favor of the God{Orihime’s father}. But once they fell in love, they began to neglect their duties, and as a result, the God separated them-allowing them to meet only once a year, on the 7th day of the 7th month. This story reminds us of the balance between love and responsibility, and it inspires the heartfelt wishes we make each year.

Events highlights;our classrooms and hallways come alive with colorful bamboo decorations and dazzling Tanzaku. Each child participated with enthusiasm, writing wishes like”I want to be a princess” or “I wish for more toys” or ” I want a beautiful dress” The air was filled with excitement and imagination!

We also held a special story time session, where our manager brought the tale of Orihime and Hikoboshi to life. The children listened with wide eyes and curious hearts, absorbing the story’s message and cultural values.

Tanabata is not just a fun tradition it’s a cultural bridge that connects us to a timeless legend from ancient China. This year’s celebration was a huge success and truly unforgettable for everyone . Here’s dreaming big and believing in magic!
