Summer School - Hawaiian Fun

This year our summer school theme was Hawaiian and it provided an excellent opportunity for all the kids to have fun, at the same time to experience the different culture and different activities apart from the regular school curricullum.

According to the Hawaiian theme, the school entrance was decorated by the kids with tiki mask , cactus crafts and many other things as follows ;

Watermelon Smashing

The very first activity of the summer school was a tasty start and it was the watermelon smashing. this game is a popular activity during Japanese summer festivals and gatherings providing fun and refreshments on hot days. All the kids had fun smashing the watermelon and at the end, tasting the juicy fruit together.

Movie day

For the movie day the kids watched the movie “Mona ” and while watching the movie, the kids were served with yummy popcorn. Also a ticket was issued to enter the movie room.

Field trip to the Planetarium and the Disaster Prevention Center

Visiting the planetarium is a great opportunuty for the children to learn about the space in an enjoyable way. The preschool children got the chance to learn about the wonders of space, stars, planets and galaxies in a realistic way. The K1 and K2 children had the opportunity to visit the Disaster Prevention Center which provides lots of important guidance regarding disaster prevention and how to act in real disasters like earthquacks , fires and harricanes.

Shirt Stamping and Garland craft

Shirt Stamping activity was another fun activity which allowed the children to learn about the different artistic abilities.The Lei craft looks so adorable and added different color to the Hawaiian theme.

Sea figure craft, Flip flop and Pineapple craft

Making crafts helps children to improve their fine motor skills. Fine motor skills refer to the coordination and movements made by their hands and fingers. These skills are important for the children to learn at a young age. Look how talented the children are…

Luau game, Limbo, Tiki Toss and Face painting

Playing games promotes physical and mental health and also stimulates creativity and imagination of the children. When playing games, children become more engaged and more focused on what they are doing.

Hawaiian themed Summer school was so much fun for all the children and they had the opportunity to learn so many things while having fun.
