The month of May is the last month of spring, so we didn’t miss the good weather and enjoy the beautiful scenery outside. In this blog, we will share what we did to make the most of these days.
What we do regularly is going to the park after morning circles and morning lessons. There are many parks near the school, so whenever we have a chance to go out with our classmates and friends from other classes, we can go to different parks during playtime. In fact, this is the advantage of our school because the children can go somewhere not far to play outside.
The pictures above show children playing happily. Some children are chasing each other, others are looking for insects in the grass.
Playing outside is very important for children to learn sociability and provides an opportunity to explore their environment.
Besides going to the park, we also went on a picnic. The photos below were taken on a picnic day for the younger classes, Star, Nursery and Preschool. The children look happy as they eat snacks in the park and they enjoy the bus ride, too!
On the other hand, the photos below were taken when the older classes, K1 and K2, went on a picnic. We went to Chiba Park and the children were delighted with the beauty of the park and had fun playing with the facilities in the park.
In addition, when it was our Physical Education day, we did it in the park to exercise and have free play. Outdoor exercises and physical activities make children more active. Exposure to fresh air, sunlight, and the natural environment also boosts their mood and increases their health-promoting vitamin D levels.

On days when we don’t have enough time to play outside but want to breathe fresh air and relax after lessons, we walk along the bay. It was beautiful to see the water and the large ships moored at the pier.
